Who is organising the ALPMA Summit 2024?

Australasian Legal Practice management Association (ALPMA) is the convenor of the ALPMA Summit 2024. Further information on ALPMA can be obtained by visiting https://www.alpma.com.au/

GEMS Event Management Australia are Professional Conference Organisers who have been engaged to provide conference management services to the ALPMA Summit 2024. GEMS are members of the Professional Conference Managers Association (USA), Meeting and Events Australia and the Professional Conference Organisers Association.       • Specialist Law Firm Managers and Administrators
      • Managing Partners, Sole Practitioners, Solicitors, Barristers, Associates and In-house Corporate and Government Legal Counsel
      • Professional Legal Association Managerial staff

What are the Summit Dates?

ALTACON will be held on Wednesday, 11 September 2024.

The Summit will be held on Thursday, 12 and Friday, 13 September 2024.

How much does it cost to attend?

Can I share my Full Summit Registration with another person?

Splitting of Full Registrations is not allowed under any circumstance. Delegates who only wish to attend one day of the Summit must register as a day delegate.

Can I just attend one session on one day of the Summit?

No. The minimum registration for the Summit is a Day Delegate Registration Package which covers one full day's Summit attendance. Delegates cannot register to attend a single session or a half-day session.

If I need to cancel my registration after the cancellation date, can another person from my organisation attend in my place?

Yes. Such changes must be advised to GEMS in writing by no later than 5 working days prior to the commencement of the Summit.

Can I cancel my registration?

All cancellations must be advised to GEMS Event management in writing before the cancellation can be processed. Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have written confirmation from GEMS Event Management. If you have not received acknowledgement within five (5) business days, please contact GEMS Event management on +61 2 9744 5252. If the cancellation is not received in writing, the registration fees will not be cancelled, and full registration will still be payable.


What if I contract Covid-19 in the lead up to the Summit?

If a delegate contracts Covid-19 in the lead up to the Summit, the Summit Organisers must be provided with a medical certificate showing that you have tested positive for Covid-19 or other official documentation before any refund will be considered. Where the Summit Organisers are advised of a situation after the Summit, and a refund is deemed to be appropriate, the delegate must still pay the administration fee along with any catering charges incurred as a result of their registration for all catering events which they were scheduled to attend.

Can I get a refund if I do not attend the Summit?

No refunds will be made for non-attendance at the Summit and any unpaid registration fees will still be payable.

In the case of medical emergency which has caused a registered delegate to not attend the Summit, the Summit Organisers must be provided with a medical certificate or appropriate documentation before any refund will be considered. Where the Summit Organisers are advised of a situation after the Summit, and a refund is deemed to be appropriate, the delegate must still pay the administration fee along with any catering charges incurred as a result of their registration for all catering events at which they were scheduled to attend.

What is the cancellation cut-off date?

Cancellations received in writing by the Summit Organisers by Tuesday, 16 July 2024 will be accepted, and all fees refunded less an AUD $125 administration fee. Cancellations received after this date cannot be accepted and will not be refunded, however, transfer of your registration to another person is acceptable. The full name and address details of the new delegate must be advised in writing to the Summit Organisers prior to the Summit. Online registration received by GEMS Event Management are considered to be confirmed by the delegate. No tentative booking will be accepted.

Can I cancel my accommodation booking?

All delegates booking accommodation through GEMS Event Management will be required to pay for their accommodation upon booking, covering those charges quoted in the accommodation rate. All delegates are responsible for payment of any additional charges on checkout of the hotel.

Please contact GEMS Event Management to cancel your accommodation booking at any time, a cancellation fee may be charge by the hotel, subject to the hotel cancellation policy.

If you alter your accommodation booking after you have checked in, please deal directly with the hotel. If you arrive 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day, you may find you have forfeited reservation and may have been charged a non-arrival fee.

Can I register after the registration closing date?

Registrations will close at 5:00pm on Wednesday, 21 August 2024, if not sold out prior, in order to finalise all arrangements for the Summit. Late registrations may be accepted after this date by contacting GEMS Event Management and a late fee of AUS $55 will be applied. Delegates who choose to register onsite will be required to pay for all related costs immediately, by cash or by credit card. Receipts will be sent to the delegate concerned after the Summit. The Organisers cannot guarantee that collateral provided by the convenor will be available to late registering delegates and there is a risk that social program functions may be fully subscribed. 

Do the registration fees include insurance?

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. it is strongly recommended that participants take out their own general travel insurance. it is suggested that the insurance policy should also cover loss of fees/deposit, airfares, accommodation charges, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property and repatriation expense.

The insurance should cover loss arising from the cancellation of the Summit by the Organisers or a person's inability to attend due to any reason whatsoever. No responsibility is taken by the Summit Organisers for any person not holding insurance.

Will the ALPMA Summit 2024 be presented virtually?

The Summit Organisers plan to run the ALPMA Summit as a face-to-face event and not as a hybrid Summit. All appropriate measures will be put into place to safeguard the health and safety of delegates.

What is the cost of parking at the venue?

Are there Disabled Facilities at the venue?

Yes. If you have a disability or mobility issues and require additional assistance, please notify the organisers by indicating your requirements on the registration form.

In the event of industrial disruption, GEMS Event Management Australia cannot be held responsible for any losses incurred by delegates. The program is correct at the time of printing, byt the organisers reserve the right to alter the program as is deemed necessary.

Liability

ALPMA or GEMS Event Management Australia Pty Ltd shall not be held liable for personal accidents or losses or damage to private property of registered delegates of the Meeting. Delegates should make their own arrangements with respect to personal insurance.
