Independent Chair to Healthy Waterways Strategy Region-wide Leadership Group, Board Chair and former Chair, Environment Protection Authority Victoria
Cheryl Batagol PSM is the Independent Chair of the Region-wide Leadership Group who oversee the Healthy Waterways Strategy. Cheryl has worked across the public and private sectors in water, environment protection and waste and pollution management. She was Chair of Melbourne Water, the Environment Protection Authority (Victoria) and the Co-operative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities. Throughout her career Cheryl has been passionate about waterway protection through the collaboration between the community, public sector agencies, the research community and the private sector.
Craig has been worked within the civil engineering and property industry for over 30 years and thus has gained a sound knowledge of development infrastructure and housing. Completing his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) in 1990 at RMIT, Craig was then employed by the Werribee and Wyndham Council from 1990 to 1998 as a civil engineer and was involved with road and drainage design, traffic engineering design and planning, road safety auditing, building approvals and construction. Craig was involved in both the design and construction the Derrimut Road underpass as well as drafting of planning permit conditions and development engineering approvals.
In 1998 Craig joined Fisher Stewart as a civil consultant for land development projects before joining Australand in 2000 as a Project Manager responsible for delivery of several residential land lot and medium density housing projects. During this time Craig completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Planning at RMIT. In 2006 he was promoted to State Manager Medium Density, the title for this role changed to Development Director – Built Form in 2010. In this role Craig was responsible for Sales, Marketing, Design and Delivery of medium density projects in Victoria for Australand.
In 2015 Craig became Development Director – Acquisitions. responsible for delivering new projects to the Australand’s Victorian Residential Division. In 2019 Craig became Development Director - Infrastructure overseeing delivery of all residential land subdivision projects within Victoria for Frasers Property Australia.
Craig’s engineering background, broad development experience combined with this ability to bring teams together make him a valuable member of the FPA.
He has also involved with the Housing Industry Association (HIA). Currently a continuing member of the Victorian Environment Planning & Development Committee and a National Director of HIA.
Craig’s broad development experience has made him a regular contributor to a number of HIA papers and personal representations seeking to influence governments on matters affecting our industry.
Jeremy is a natural capital and environmental economist, specialising in water and the environment. He works across Australian on urban water policy, economics, and regulation issues.
In 2018, he was a member of the Victorian Stormwater Ministerial Advisory Committee. He has helped develop and implement urban stormwater offset schemes with half a dozen Victorian Councils, co-developed the Victorian water quality offsets framework, and he is currently working with DEECA to develop Victorian Government guidelines and practice notes for Councils seeking to implement stormwater offset schemes.
Jeremy has extensive experience developing robust and defensible investment cases for integrated water management investments, including the Western Sydney Regional Master Plan, and partnering with the Queensland Government to prioritise the $8.2 billion of investments needed to achieving regional water quality targets for the Great Barrier Reef.
He is currently supporting initiatives aimed at scaling up of high-integrity nature based investment in Australia, including working with the Commonwealth on the design and implementation of the Nature Repair Market, and with the Victorian Government to increase Victoria’s investment readiness for nature based investment from the private sector.
Jeremy is also a Founding Director of the Waterflow water market information platform, Australia’s first natural capital marketplace operating at scale
