The Stormwater Victoria 2024 will comprise the option of two full-day pre-conference workshops; The Operations and Maintenance Manual, and the WSUD Concept Design Workshop.
VIC Guidelines for the Maintenance of Stormwater Treatment Measures
This full-day workshop covers all aspects of Operations and Maintenance for all types of stormwater treatment measures. These Guidelines, adopted by Stormwater Victoria, have become the Australian industry standard and reference document for the maintenance of stormwater assets across the country. The Workshop is aimed at Maintenance Managers and Cleaning Contractors, as well as Council staff involved in the sizing, siting and approval of stormwater treatment measures.
Workshop Overview
The workshop focuses on the O+M Guidelines, that have become the industry standard and reference document for the Maintenance of Stormwater assets. Many Councils are now putting into their cleaning tenders: “cleaning will be done in accordance with the Guidelines for the Maintenance of Stormwater Treatment Measures 2022”. Which therefore means the cleaning contractors bidding for their work will all be bidding on exactly the same scope, plus they will need to have a copy of the Guidelines and be trained up in its use, and this makes Council’s job much easier.
The Training Covers:
The origin and evolution of these new Guidelines
Some of the standard terms that everyone need to know
Explanation of the format and contents of the Guideline
How Councils and How Cleaning Contractors will use these Guidelines
Planning and budgeting for Maintenance – what Councils need to know
Monitoring of devices – tools, Data Sheets, Cleaning Specs, practical field demonstration & explanation
Regular Cleaning and Comprehensive Cleaning – measure by measure
Dewatering & Decanting, new devices, Reporting format and content
Rectifications, auditing, upgrades & decommissioning
Tricks of the trade (so everyone gets a better outcome)
One Page Cleaning Specs for all proprietary treatment measures
Questions and Answers for everything stormwater
This popular training exposes the myths and problems of the past, and presents a logical and practical way to get the best from Stormwater Treatment Devices. Whilst not aimed at consultants and DA engineers, it certainly contains a lot of very helpful content in the selection, sizing and siting of devices for long term reliable solutions. After all, devices that are chosen appropriately, plus are easy and cost effective to maintain…. tend to get maintained!
