Lyndall Pickering is the Strategic Planning Manager for Healthy Waterways and Environment at Sydney Water. She is leading the development of Sydney Water’s strategic blueprint which identifies the directions Sydney Water can take to enable world class, healthy, swimmable waterways that support our thriving city. This includes Sydney Water’s developing role in leading water sensitive urban design to drive waterway health improvement and keep water in the landscape to support cooler, greener and healthier places. Lyndall is also leading research on the stormwater retention effectiveness of water sensitive urban design assets, as well as the interactions between recycled water, stormwater and Western Sydney soils. Lyndall recently led Sydney Water’s innovation festival design sprint on how we can reimagine Sydney’s water balance by taking a deep dive into the management of the Hawkesbury Nepean River – and apply lessons from our city’s other co-operative catchment management groups.
