Sally Boer
Director, Freshwater Ecology

Sally is an experienced urban water management practitioner well-versed in WSUD, aquatic ecosystem remediation and the design of stormwater management systems from concept to delivery. With a background in freshwater ecology and over a decade of experience spanning both research and consultancy, Sally applies scientific rigor and practical know-how to develop tailored solutions which respond to local conditions.

Sally has a long working history with local government authorities developing improved waterway and water body management approaches that build on the social and recreational benefits of these assets. Her passion is in achieving multiple outcomes that enhance urban ecology and liveability through collaborative and integrated planning and design processes.

Sally was awarded the inaugural Urban Development Institute’s Women in Development Excellence Award – Outstanding Achievement by a Woman in Creating a Sustainable Environment, 2009 as testament to her achievements in delivering successful on-ground applications of WSUD. She is a member of the Australian Water Association, the Stormwater Industry Association of Queensland and the Urban Development Institute of Australia.
