Welcome to the Online Registration Portal for the 2025 Stormwater Victoria Conference, to be held at Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre, Wangaratta from Tuesday, 3 June 2025 to Wednesday, 4 June 2025.

Registrations for the pre-conference workshops (Monday, 2 June) and technical tour (Thursday, 5 June) can also be made through this site. You do not have to attend the conference to register for these events.

As you complete the details on each page, click "Next" to proceed to the next section. 

For each new registration, you must create a unique login. Each delegate will receive a unique email address and password. 

First Time Creating an Account for the 2025 Stormwater Victoria Conference? 

If this is your first time creating an account for the 2025 Stormwater Victoria Conference, please click the "Create a new user account" tab. You are required to enter your email address, create and confirm a password and then press the "Next" button in the bottom right corner of the screen. 

Passwords must have a minimum length of seven (7) characters, and must contain numbers, upper and lower case alphabetic characters and at least one special character.

For this event, your personal data will be viewed and processed by GEMS Event Management Australia and the Stormwater Victoria Committee as the convenors of the 2025 Stormwater Victoria Conference. Pre Conference Workshops

Pre Conference Workshops will be held at the Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre, Wangaratta on Monday, 2 June 2025.

Please select if you would like to attend one of our Pre-Conference Workshops below. These workshops are run concurrently, so it is only possible to attend one. If you do not want to attend a workshop, please press the 'Next' button located at the bottom right corner of the page to continue.

Bioretention 101 will be run by Jamie Comley from J Comley Consulting and a representative from Clearwater. This special-offer Clearwater training is designed to provide participants with a holistic understanding of key considerations to successfully design, construct and maintain bioretention assets.  The course synthesises content from Clearwater’s Construction Hold Points training and Maintenance of WSUD Assets Training with new biofiltration design content to address and build understanding across the full lifecycle of biofiltration assets.

Aquatic Plants for Constructed Wetlands will be run by David Carew, who is the Principal of Carew Environmental. David Carew will be focusing on the integral nature of aquatic plants in stormwater treatment wetlands, and they are fundamental to their performance. This workshop will detail how plants provide the treatment services, and the conditions required for their ongoing health. Information on key aquatic plant species will be provided with a site visit to two wetlands to observe and identify them in the field. Participants will gain knowledge on aquatic plants to enable improved wetland design and maintenance programs.

Navigating Climate Change: Capacity Building Workshop for a Resilient Future will be run by Jessica Ward and Jacob Meehan from Spiire. This one-day workshop will explore the impact of climate change on stormwater management in Victoria and Australia, aiming to build capacity, enable collaboration and promote greater understanding of adaptation strategies. Participants will explore the impacts of climate change, such as increased rainfall intensity, flooding, urban heat, and drought, on existing stormwater systems and floodplains. The workshop will highlight adaptive strategies, climate-smart planning and updated policies, to improve resilience. The presentations will be supported by case studies, and interactive discussions and attendees will gain valuable insights into enhancing stormwater management practices and fostering collaboration across local governments, developers, and communities to build a more sustainable and climate-resilient future.

Standard registration will be available from Friday, 28 March until Thursday, 22 May 2025. At the close of standard registration, a $55.00 late registration fee will be applied automatically to all new registrations. 

Prices are quoted in Australian Dollars and inclusive of 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST). 

Full Conference including Social Function registration is inclusive of the Welcome Reception on Monday, 2 June 2025 and the Conference Dinner on Tuesday, 3 June 2025. For catering purposes, please indicate your attendance on the following page.

Technical Tour

The Post-Conference Technical Tour will take place on Thursday, 5 June. We will visit a variety of sites around the conference location, Wangaratta. 

Not only will the Technical Tour incorporate site visits, but it will give attendees the opportunity to listen to passionate stakeholders, exchange with other practitioners, and have your questions answered. The Technical Tour will provide insights into stormwater management, stormwater infrastructure design, and stormwater and WSUD planning. Registration fees for the Technical Tour will include transport, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Accommodation

Discounted accommodation rates have been negotiated with the Quality Hotel Gateway Wangaratta for delegates attending the 2025 Stormwater Victoria Conference. These rates are only available to conference delegates and bookings MUST be made via the online registration form. Do not contact the hotel directly for these rates. Prices are listed in Australian dollars, inclusive of GST, and are per room, per night.

Terms and Conditions
All invoices are payable by credit card upon registration. Registration Cancellations: All cancellations must be advised to GEMS Event Management Australia in writing via email before the cancellation can be processed. Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have written confirmation from GEMS Event Management Australia. If you have not received an acknowledgment within five (5) business days, please contact GEMS Event Management Australia on +61 2 9744 5252. If the cancellation is not received in writing, the registration fees will not be cancelled and full registration will still be payable. Registration Cancellations received in writing by the Conference Organisers by Friday, 2 May 2025 will be accepted and all fees refunded less an AUD$125 administration fee. Cancellations received after this date cannot be accepted and will not be refunded, however, transfer of your registration to another person is acceptable. The full name and address details of the new delegate must be advised in writing to the Conference Organisers at least 5 days prior to the Conference. Online registration received by GEMS Event Management Australia is considered to be confirmed by the delegate. No tentative bookings will be accepted. No refunds will be made for non-attendance at the Conference and any unpaid registration fees will still be payable. In the case of a medical emergency that has caused a registered delegate to not attend the Conference, the Conference Organiser must be provided with a medical certificate or appropriate documentation before any refund will be considered. Where the Conference Organisers are advised of the situation after the Conference and a refund is deemed to be appropriate, the delegate must still pay the administration fee, along with any catering charges incurred for all catering events at which they were scheduled to attend. Accommodation cancellations received within 30 days of the arrival date will incur a cancellation fee equal to 100% of the total accommodation fee. No refunds will be made for non-attendance and any unpaid accommodation fees will still be payable. Images may be taken at the 2025 Stormwater Victoria Conference and may be used for the purposes of future publications conducted on behalf of Stormwater Victoria. This includes, but is not limited to, publication on websites, electronic and print journals, and trade and non-trade publications. Stormwater Victoria claims the copyright of any image and may ‘alter’ any image for the lawful purpose of Stormwater Victoria, and attendees release Stormwater Victoria from all claims and liability relating to any images taken or used. If you do not wish for your images to be used, please email registration@gemsevents.com.au to advise.
