2025 Call for Abstracts

The Conference Organising Committee are seeking presentation abstracts for the Stormwater Victoria 2025 Conference, with the theme of ‘More than the sum of our parts: the value of collective action’. The conference will be held regionally on Tuesday 3^rd and Wednesday 4^th June 2025 in Wangaratta, with optional pre-conference workshops planned for Monday 2^nd June and Technical Tour on Thursday 5^th June.

Victoria faces a range of challenges from climate change, a growing population, and a critical need for housing development to meet the needs of that growing population. This could create the perfect storm for our urban water cycle, with the potential for unmanaged stormwater to exacerbate flooding and degrade waterway health.

On the other hand, thoughtfully managed stormwater presents a range of opportunities for our future cities and towns. With good planning, stormwater management can help ensure water security, reduce flooding, support urban waterway health, foster biodiversity, and create cooler, greener, and more resilient urban spaces.

No person or organisation can deliver these outcomes alone. Good stormwater management requires collaboration and integration across all stages – from initial planning to ongoing operation and maintenance. Through collective action, we are more than the sum of our parts.
