Below are some recommendations of our favourite places to visit, explore, eat and drink in Adelaide.

Art Gallery of South Australia 

Set within jewel-like 19th and 20th century buildings in the heart of the city’s cultural precinct the Art Gallery of South Australia boasts one of the largest art museum collections in Australia, with approximately 47,000 works of art from Australia, Europe, North America and Asia.

Adelaide Zoo

Adelaide Zoo is just a 15 minute walk from the central business district and is home to more than 1,800 animals and almost 300 species of exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles and fish exhibited in over eight hectares of magnificent botanic surroundings. 

Adelaide Botanic Garden

Adelaide Botanic Garden is an oasis in the cosmopolitan heart of the city, featuring beautifully-landscaped gardens, majestic avenues and stunning architecture. Spanning 50 hectares, the historic garden (opened in 1857) features some of Australia's finest plant collections.

Tandanya - National Aboriginal Cultural Institute 

Tandanya is the leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Arts and Cultural organisation nationally. Tandanya’s mission is to develop, promote and showcase the diversity of ATSI arts practice and foster debate and discourse through an exciting program of visual and performing arts, workshops, artist/curator talks, forums, cultural presentations and film screenings.

Adelaide Goal

One of South Australia's oldest buildings, Adelaide Gaol features unique architecture, and a wealth of history. Over 147 years, the Gaol housed some of the state's most notorious and dangerous criminals. Step back in time and walk the hallways and cells of South Australia's first inmates. Experience what life was like behind bars for almost 300,000 prisoners who once called Adelaide Gaol home.

Glenelg Beach

Glenelg Beach is Adelaide's most popular city beach, offering a buzzing vibe and great atmosphere for all to enjoy. Renowned for its wide beach, stunning sunsets, rich heritage, charming hotels and bustling shops, sidewalk cafés and loads of entertainment.
