GPDU staged our first Conference in 2018 and looking back, it was fabulous.   We learned, we talked, we laughed, we cried.  We shared war stories, we leaned on each other and we took home practical learnings to help us in our professional lives    

2 years has passed and we are more challenged than ever before.  What a difficult start to the year for General Practice.  We are all juggling so many issues and working harder than ever for our communities.   Bush fires Floods Corona Virus.  We are working on presenting a disaster session with major thought leaders to create a call to action.     We need to be more passionate and focussed than we have ever been but we have so many challenges coming from so many directions.  

Thanks to the GPDU community we now have each other – and what the National Park can do together is so much more powerful than what we can do apart.  We are learning to listen within the diversity and debates   Listening learning supporting and advocating remain the three pillars of GPDU  

GPDU21 will build on our first conference.  Our GPDU network has grown to over  7,000 members. We have developed a not for profit social enterprise  run by GPs for GPs, that brings together our primary care community for learning, peer support and advocacy. 

We will guarantee to deliver you everything that every other conference in this sector will …great content and great speakers.   But we will also give you a place of safety.  A safe place to share, a place to vent, a place to find camaraderie and a place and time to find your meaning  again within the busyness of life  

GPDU is a unique space for a great profession with many individuals let’s come together to own that space and help you help your community.  

GPDU imagines a new concept in conferencing -we are not afraid to be brave, to be bold, and different.  Yet we share in the comfort and understanding of our colleagues.  We share the dark and the light of General Practice.
