Dr Jeff Myers
Dr. Jeff Myers is a palliative medicine physician and team member of Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit in Toronto, Canada.
He has maintained a clinical practice in palliative medicine for 25 years and spent his first 10 years as Medical Director of two HIV/AIDS hospices in Los Angeles, California. He completed his MSEd in medical education at the University of Southern California and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Myers holds the Bresver Family Chair in End-of-Life Care and Medical Assistance in Dying in Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Family and Community Medicine. In this role his focus is on improving clinicians’ skills in communicating about serious illness, advance care planning, and Medical Assistance in Dying.
He is a clinician educator at the University of Toronto and previously served as head of the institution’s academic Division of Palliative Care. Dr. Myers’ ongoing research interests include person-centered decision-making and learner assessment.
