Tutorial - Tuesday, 28th May

Below are the tutorials that will occur on Tuesday, 28th May, 2019 from 9:00am - 5:00pm. To find out more information about each tutorial please visit the Conference Website https://conference.auscert.org.au/conference-program/

Important Information

  • You will only be able to attend one of the below Tuesday tutorials as they are all held at the same time
  • The Best TLS Training in the World Prerequisites - Basic Linux command line skills: moving about, invoking commands, editing configuration files. A laptop with a SSH client, which you will only need to connect to your assigned virtual server. You should be comfortable using a Unix editor. We'll provide you with your own virtual server and a sample web application to work on throughout the course. This tutorial is a 2 day session and will be run over both Tuesday and Wednesday, due to this attendees will only be able to attend the one tutorial. 
  • Digital Forensics - This tutorial is a 2 day session and will be run over both Tuesday and Wednesday, due to this attendees will only be able to attend the one tutorial. Attendees should bring a laptop or a virtual machine with linux (Example: Kali, SANS Sift or DEFT).
  • MISP Training - Attendees will need to bring their own laptop

  • You will only be able to attend one of the below Wednesday tutorials as they are all held at the same time
  • x86 Assembly Fundamentals with JollyFrogs - Attendees must have their own laptop that runs linux as primary OS, Windows w VirtualBox or VMWare and a virtual Linux OS

Welcome Reception – Beers of the World
Beer is the number one drink for AusCERT attendees. We have a group of sponsors who will be serving a variety of international beers directly from their booths. Come along on the Wednesday event to kick off AusCERT 2019 with Beers of the World. The welcome reception will start at 5pm and conclude at 7pm. You’ll have enough time to catch up with old and new friends after the welcome reception, enjoy the nightlife of Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach, or simply kick back in your room.

Special rates have been negotiated for conference delegates at a range of hotels close to the Marriot Resort Surfers Paradise.

These rates are only available to conference delegates and bookings MUST be made via the online registration form. Do not contact the hotel directly to book these rates. Prices listed are in Australian dollars, inclusive of GST and are per room per night.

All cancellations and amendments must be sent in writing to Jessica Newmarch at jnewmarch@gemsevents.com.au.

Please note: A credit card pre-authorisation of $100 per night will be required upon check in at the hotel. Each guest is responsible for settling their own additional expenses upon check-out.
