Biography
David Turner manages the development of Lext’s legal innovation projects. As a practising lawyer, David harnesses his legal acumen and experience from practice to ensure that Lext’s projects are intuitive and thoughtfully scoped and deployed to ensure both scalability and accessibility for the user.
David is a full-stack software engineer, fluent in JavaScript (including React, Next.js, Node.js and Deno), Python, Lua, and SQL (especially PostgreSQL)), and experienced in implementing large language model-powered applications, especially retrieval-augmented generation applications. He is also a director of the nonprofit A2J Tech Network, which aims to improve access to justice in Australia through technology.
Prior to co-founding Lext, David practised as a solicitor in large and small law firms, and as a barrister. He also has extensive governance experience, having served as President of NSW Young Lawyers and as a Councillor of the Law Society of NSW.
David holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (UNSW).
