Overview

The practice manager of a small law practice is often on the front line of practical compliance. It's the principal's responsibility, but you will be the one looking after the practicalities, and the one who shares the stress of questioning whether you've missed anything. In this session, you will learn the principles and framework you need to cover everything and to help your principals fulfil their responsibilities. We will discuss: • The compliance obligations of law practices and their principals under the Uniform Law • Policy frameworks every law practice should have • Hot areas for regulatory risk and how the PM can help manage them - including supervision, client relationships, complaints and problem files, supervision of junior lawyers, management of trust money and use of AI. • Your role in providing structure, enforcement and review.'
