On behalf of the IECA and Stormwater Queensland Conference Organising Committee, we would like to thank you in participating at the 2019 IECA Australasian Conference and Stormwater Queensland Conference. For this year’s Conference we were excited to travel to Cairns. The Conference was held at the Hilton Cairns from Tuesday, 1st October to Thursday 3rd October 2019.
The Conference comprised of:
Queensland has some of the most beautiful and popular natural assets that drive huge economic benefits to the region. But are we doing enough to protect them? Do we actually understand what it is we are trying to protect? Have we had the reality check we need to truly understand the problem and move forward with solutions?
For that reason, Stormwater Queensland (SQ) and the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) Australasia came together for a joint conference to recognise the common values and purpose they share in effective land, stormwater and waterway management.
The conference brought together practitioners, academics, suppliers, asset owners and students in a common forum to engage, collaborate, discuss and dive headfirst into the reality checks we must undertake in areas such as runoff management, regulation and to protect the Great Barrier Reef.
The conference, was a fun, vibrant, thought-provoking event that expanded delegates’ thinking and knowledge while challenging them to investigate the realities of what we’ve done in the past, what we’re doing now, and what we might do into the future of land and water management.
The Conference Organising Committee, Sponsors and Trade Exhibitors loved seeing you in Cairns in October!
